. Q3 m) u& r# U+ e; n$ V5 W
  + m& H  O5 T8 c) d3 E1 E" j1 D6 D
  1. An eye for eye, a tooth for tooth.
9 u5 ^1 j% @7 v- v5 v7 J8 K  n
* R/ J8 a$ T% q, Y, t4 q  A: Are you going to tell John』s supervisor what he did?2 |8 L& w! d( P7 Z9 x; a* |7 Q
  B: Sure. He told my supervisor when I did the same thing.  o7 w6 [3 W+ G/ V4 {- d
  A: An eye for eye, a tooth for tooth.& L/ J2 m) l% ?% i. c

. g  d$ Q/ Z% O9 F" _3 G  5 H! W! x& {3 B# A
  2. get cold feet 膽怯;例如:/ }) V( T/ Z0 p0 ]! R5 w/ x. Z3 a) r2 v/ g
  : R4 E3 ^# I: `9 u* }: W
  A: What happened to Jim? I thought he would go skydiving with us.
4 z4 V, {2 E" ]3 Q% o  B: He got cold feet.8 d# e" b6 y3 {' D7 ^7 B1 _
  # \& \+ z! y* m8 g
2 u+ d) Z- w, J
8 c1 P% G% }8 N9 }- d* h( M  3. I need that like I need a hole in my head.
2 B! F) G8 G# r
3 y7 s7 `8 h8 _& t8 J' |  A: I』m having a hard time deciding what car to get.
$ B7 q1 x7 ]- Y7 E  B: Look at this one. Why not buy it?  U  i. ?' S7 f/ Q
  A: I need that like I need a hole in my head.4 ^3 q% l' F2 {* x
  8 S% J" `2 h$ e* \) q% ]1 p
: V( N0 c, z+ D5 u& E+ P+ T
, E2 `" M6 h: k  4. It』s as plain as the nose on your face.很明白,很清楚。例如:
' Z6 v9 _& G; J5 K+ r) b& G7 h  3 h9 P0 l2 V4 P* R9 W3 T. r1 N
  A: Do you think Nancy is going to quit? She hasn』t said anything.
$ f4 d( H! X8 z5 {2 q* U; a9 d- R7 V  B: It』s as plain as the nose on your face.
4 I. X3 c) @! _# a  7 k7 j( V: C7 [- D
2 O0 G+ k2 C6 V* m2 R! A

3 [! q' B' e( `$ e  5. Let』s not split hairs. [
  ' B( u7 T) s1 h/ w; t! ~
  A: Well, I don』t agree. I should get $5.02 and you should get $4.48.
/ X- F8 ]: c: H" K, z  B: Let』s not split hairs, OK?9 m% p; T( ?5 O& Q

* l* J( F! ~!
1 }' q# J, |1 }, f7 r  . e, Q6 ]$ [- T6 `! J% m2 B
  6. The blind leading the blind.
  5 k/ [; R: R' i$ ?
  A: Kate asked Henry to help her start a business.
- ^( \" o1 C; {5 L1 U  R  B: The blind leading the blind.
! O2 Z- R- {6 {3 V( p  A: Yeah, Henry doesn』t know anything about business.
$ `0 c; O2 x# {+ R' }) T  + C+ ^3 M$ B) z8 o
  其實這句話是「If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.」
